What is thermoforming?
Thermoforming is a process for shaping heated plastic sheets or films, which become flexible and can then be molded onto a support or into a mold. Once cooled, the plastic retains the desired shape.
The process includes several key steps:
Heating the plastic plate
The material is brought to a specific temperature to become malleable.
Formatting
The hot plate is stretched over a mold or placed under vacuum (vacuum forming), depending on the desired geometry.
Cooling
The plastic hardens and retains the shape of the mold.
Cutting and finishing
The parts are cut and prepared for assembly or final use.
